Use the 3DViewStation as visualization for your after sales, service and spare parts solution

For after-sales solutions, often referred to as MRO (Maintenance-Repair-Overhaul) in the US, data and information from a wide variety of source systems must be brought together. Many applications today simply lack a graphical component that can be used to visualize the associated CAD data. The same applies to service applications, where technicians are alerted on the move, but usually do not receive much more than a customer name and an error code. This is where the addition of a 3D graphic can bring the decisive advantage, because it brings about the possibility to see, spatially, where the problem exists and then the ability to link from the geometry to instructions for troubleshooting or maintenance. However, it is also desirable to create and maintain the graphical contents of the various manuals in 3D with appropriate authoring systems, if possible, and also to reduce the effort for parts catalogs, which today run as pure web applications without plugins. Project examples

Offshore wind farms must be inspected regularly. This requires a maintenance system with which these inspections can be planned and the results recorded. In order to better allocate reports and hints at problems, the 3DViewStation WebViewer version was completely integrated into the user interface of the maintenance solution LCAM. If you click on a geometry, the corresponding component is immediately highlighted in LCAM - and vice versa. At the same time, images, documents and reports stored for the component are listed and new reports can be attached. The basic integration for this use case only took a few hours.

TID now uses the 3DViewStation WebViewer version for the CatalogCreator, because it has a HTML5 client that does not require any installation on the end device. This was unique until now, because the old solution required the local installation of a plugin. The 3DViewStation can also be operated offline and at the same time it can be used as an authoring system (in the case of preparation of spare parts data), it also has export possibilities into 2D formats still in use. The ideal and future-proof solution is 3DViewStation. In addition, as is so often the case, our batch tool KAS is used to automate certain processes.
